# SKILL.md — mekong-x402-fleet

**Pay-per-call x402 API fleet for coding agents** — 43 live endpoints, paid in USDC on Base. No signup, no API key: your wallet *is* the credential.

## When to use this skill

Use it whenever an agent needs live external data it cannot hallucinate: web search, token prices, market data, SEC filings, crypto safety checks (honeypot/AML/rug), company enrichment, FX rates, gas prices, academic papers, PDF extraction, speech-to-text, Vietnam market data, and more.

## How to call (x402 payment flow)

1. **Call the endpoint unpaid.** You get HTTP `402` with a JSON body containing `accepts[0]` (scheme `exact`, network `eip155:8453`/Base, USDC asset, `payTo` = agent wallet, `amount` in USDC base units = 6 decimals) plus payment instructions.
2. **Sign the payment.** Build the payment payload per the x402 v2 `exact` scheme: an EIP-712 signature authorizing a USDC transfer of `amount` to `payTo` from your Base wallet. Retry the same request with the `X-PAYMENT` (v1) or `PAYMENT-SIGNATURE` (v2) header carrying the base64 payment payload.
3. **Use a client library — don't hand-roll this.** `x402-axios` / `x402-fetch` (npm) handle the 402 → sign → retry loop automatically. Your wallet needs USDC on Base plus a little ETH for gas (~$0.0007/tx).

## Free trial (no payment needed to evaluate)

A per-IP daily quota applies automatically before payment is required: 10 calls/day for endpoints ≤ $0.002, 5/day up to $0.01, 2/day up to $0.10, 1/day above. Watch the `X-Free-Remaining` response header. When the trial is exhausted you get the standard `402`.

## Honest caveats (from our own benchmarks)

- `tokenprice` ticker lookup is ambiguous across chains ("ETH" may match a Solana token with the same symbol). For precision, query by `{chain, address}`.
- `fxrates` returns a daily reference rate, not a real-time trading price.
- `gpuspot` prices are oracle snapshots of rentable GPU listings, not a reservation.
